Default Assignees

Introduction

Aiveo can be configured to automatically set the assignee of a work item to a default assignee when the work item is created or changed.

Aiveo supports two ways of configuring the default assignee of work items:

  • By Project - when new work items are created, the assignee will be initially set to the chosen default assignee for the project
  • By Work Item Type - when the type of a work item is changed, the assignee will be set to the chosen default assignee for that type

Changing a Project's Default Assignee

In order to change a project's default assignee, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on Portal in the menu bar at the top of the page
  2. In the dropdown menu that opens, click Projects
  3. Select the project that you are changing the default assignee of
  4. Select the user you want to be the default assignee by selecting it from the Default Assignee dropdown
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page

Note: Only portal administrators can change a project's default assignee

Changing a Work Item Type's Default Assignee

In order to change a work item type's default assignee, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on Project in the menu bar at the top of the page
  2. In the dropdown menu that opens, click Work Item Types
  3. Select the work item type that you are changing the default assignee of
  4. Select the user you want to be the default assignee by selecting it from the Default Assignee dropdown
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page
