Work Item States

Introduction

Work item states are used to track the progress of work items in Aiveo. States are completely configurable for each project in your portal. The state of a work item is displayed with a specific color so that it is easier to discern the states of work items on the work items page without needing to filter by only one state.

Adding a state

To add a state to an existing work item type, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on Project in the menu bar at the top of the page
  2. In the dropdown menu that opens, click Work Item Types
  3. Select the work item type that you want to add a state to
  4. Select the States tab
  5. Click the Add button to append a new state to the bottom of the list of existing states
  6. Enter the name and select a color for the new state
  7. Use the up and down arrow buttons to move the state to the desired position in the list of states
  8. Click Save

Changing the Color of a State

The color of a state can be changed at any time by editing the work item type for that state. To change the color of a state, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on Project in the menu bar at the top of the page
  2. In the dropdown menu that opens, click Work Item Types
  3. Click the work item type that has the state you want to change
  4. Select the States tab
  5. Change the color of the state using the color picker
  6. Click Save
For your convenience the default Aiveo state colors are selectable using the color palette at the bottom of the color picker.
